Financial Aid Information
Are you planning on attending summer school? The 2017 summer school applications are now available in the GCC Financial Aid Office as well as on the GCC website. You are required to complete this application as well as have a 2016-2017 FAFSA on file with GCC in order to be considered for summer school financial aid. Upon receipt of your application, the GCC Financial Aid Office will review your file and send you a summer school financial aid proposal.
Financial aid for the summer session is very limited and most students apply for student loans to pay for their tuition/fees and book costs if they have not received their maximums for 2016-2017. If you qualify, the loan application materials will be sent to you.
If you have not attended college this past year and have not yet filled out a 2016-2017 FAFSA, you need to complete this application as soon as possible. (In addition, you also need to submit a 2017-2018 FAFSA for the upcoming academic year, which begins in August.)
Have you filled out your 2017-2018 FAFSA for the upcoming academic year, which begins in August? Students began submitting FAFSA's last October. You need to file a new FAFSA every year you are enrolled in school.
The financial aid process takes 4-6 weeks to complete and you need to give staff ample time to serve you in the best possible way. You are considered a late filer if you submit your FAFSA after June 1. Don't delay, file today.
