Notice of the Availability of
Financial Aid Information
GCC is required, on an annual basis, to provide to all enrolled students a list of financial aid information that is available to them. A list of the information is described below. GCC will provide a paper copy to any student upon request. The information may be obtained by contacting Sue Forbes, Director of Financial Aid, at 906-932-4231, ext. 208 or by e-mail address at suef@gogebic.edu.
- all institutional student financial assistance programs available to students at GCC;
- the methods by which financial assistance is distributed among student recipients;
- all forms that are required for students to apply for financial assistance;
- the rights and responsibilities of students receiving financial assistance;
- the cost of attending GCC which include tuition/fees, books/supplies, estimates of typical student room and board costs and any additional cost of the program in which the student is enrolled or expresses a specific interest;
- terms and conditions of Title IV, HEA loans;
- criteria for selecting recipients and for determining amount of awards;
- eligibility requirements and procedures for applying for financial aid;
- methods and frequency of disbursements of financial aid;
- standards for satisfactory academic progress;
- criteria for continued student eligibility;
- terms of any loan received as part of the financial aid package, sample loan repayment schedule, and the necessity for repaying loans;
- a statement that enrollment in a program of study abroad approved for credit by the home institution may be considered enrollment in the home institution for purposes of applying for financial aid;
- general conditions and terms applicable to employment provided as part of a financial aid package;
- entrance and exit loan counseling;
- the requirement of GCC’s refund policy as well as the federal requirements for the return of grant or loan assistance;
- private loan counseling;
- the requirements for officially withdrawing from the institution;
- Code of Conduct;
- Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) requirements.
