Allied Health (Health Careers) Division
Gogebic Community College offers several health career choices including:
- Certified Nursing Assistant CNA
- Practical Nursing PN
- Associate Degree Nursing ADN
- EMS Emergency Medical Services (Ironwood only)
LPN and ADN programs
The nursing programs are offered on the main campus in Ironwood and in the Copper Country. The practical nursing program now accepts 90 full time students per year, 30 in the Copper Country and 60 at the main campus in Ironwood.
The ADN program accepts 60 students every fall with classes on the main campus and clinical sites in several locations in the Ironwood area and the Copper Country.
Part time LPN program
Every other year the practical nursing program is offered on a part time basis. Applications are now being accepted for the part time program that will begin in August 2009.
EMT-Basic program
The EMT-basic is a certificate program This will be offered in August of 2009. Like other programs there are pre-requisites prior to acceptance.
Paramedic program
The paramedic program will be offered in the fall of 2010. There are pre-requisites including certification as an EMT-basic.
